Concrete weight calculator

Estimate the weight of a rectangular concrete section or a core/cylinder. Use metric or imperial dimensions and display the result in kg or lb.

Two shapes – one method

For rectangular sections, volume is length × width × thickness. For cores and cylinders, the calculator uses diameter and depth/length. The volume is then multiplied by material density.

Metric or imperial

Choose mm, cm or m for metric input, or inches and feet for imperial input. Density is shown as kg/m³ or lb/ft³, and the result can be displayed in kg or lb.

Use the right density

The default 2,400 kg/m³ is a common planning value for normal concrete, but actual density varies with concrete type, reinforcement and composition. Use a project-specific value when known.

Planning aid – not a lifting plan

The weight estimate can help before lifting, transport or further division. Lifting equipment, attachment, center of gravity, capacity, reinforcement and site safety still need to be assessed for the actual job.
